Yet another sunny afternoon called for a visit by the water in Steveston Village. After watching the Closing Ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic Games, I decided some frozen yogurt from Timothy’s Frozen Yogurt was in order. It is the first place that comes to mind for frozen yogurt in Richmond and even at 6:30 p.m., there was still a line up that went out the door.
We got our favourite flavour, the Mango Frozen Yogurt. Luckily, the girl in front of us got mango and peach, so our refreshing treat successfully avoided any dark red colours and berry flavours from previous uses of the machine. The fresh mangos were blended with a block of frozen yogurt and came out in a nice, delicious-looking yellow. Mango bits were evident in the yogurt, which made the texture nice with some contrasts. It was tart and slightly sweet with the fresh aroma of mangoes. The yogurt was also perfectly creamy and not too sweet. The balance of the aroma, sweetness, and tart mango flavour was perfect. Coupled with a freshly made, crisp, and sweet vanilla waffle cone – one of the best waffle cones I have ever had – it was not a dessert to be missed.
