Shake Shack, Philadelphia PA
Info sessions are not only great sources for information but also good food, if you know which clubs to go to. This is where I got to try the ShackBurger from Shake Shack. This was catered but it was the same thing as what they serve in the restaurant in Center City. It was actually a great cheeseburger, one of the best I have ever had. The bun was soft and slightly sweet. Nicely toasted, it was kind I squishy and sticky when coming into contact with the sauce, just the way I like it. The burger patty was just a little undercooked in the middle but not raw, making it tender and juicy. I loved the melted, gooey and savory cheese as well as the special ShackSauce that was slightly tangy.
The Fries were disappointing, though. It was quite cold and this not very crispy on the outside. Even taking this into account, it was still just too thick and mushy in the inside. If it had been crispy before, the skin would have been tough but this was just moist and mushy.
Looking at their menu, I do not think I will go to the restaurant itself anytime soon but I would certainly recommend Shake Shack to anyone looking for a quick but delicious burger in downtown Philly. Who knows, I might go an try one of their famous shakes.
