After the midterm, I headed to a speaker event and they were serving up pizza from Allegro Pizza & Grill. Allegro for me has always been decent, though I would prefer slightly chewier and thicker crust, like that from Papa John’s. However, they have decent ingredients and toppings.
The Vegetarian Pizza was quite nice and surprisingly not greasy. On top of the cheese, there were plenty of onions, broccoli, spinach, peppers, and mushrooms. My favorite was the slightly wilted broccoli, which was still kind of crunchy. The onions all clustered together and were not baked enough so some still had a spicy sting to it. The mushrooms and other vegetables were also plentiful, complementing the savory cheese.
The Pepperoni Pizza was more on the greasy side, as with all pepperoni pizzas. I found the cheese to be a bit plain and the marinara sauce not seasoned enough. However, it was still sweet and tangy so when paired with the savory pepperoni, was still nice.
